U.S. Should Step Up on Syrian/Iraqi/Afghan Refugees

Volunteering Before "One is Volunteered" Frequently Has Its Advantages

We made poor choices and it affected these folks; now they need a place to go.

Syria            The U.S. chose to not get involved in the Syrian fight back when the anti-Assad forces were moderate.
Iraq              Chose to pull ALL troops out of Iraq despite the easily modified Status of Forces Agreement that would have stabilized the region and stopped ISIS from establishing a foothold in a second country.  And there are shades of Powell's Pottery Barn Rule - we invaded, overthrew the leadership, and (stupidly) disbanded the Iraqi Army completely - we broke it, we bought it.
Afghanistan:   Well, that place is just messed up.

*  We've accepted 1800 refugees over the last three years.  Whew baby.
*  10,000 is the number we've committed to recently.
*  Now I agree we have 10 or 12 million illegals we could share with Europe, should they want to compare, but most of these Middle East refugees have some bonafide fears (like torture-beheading-more torture), not just economic desires, so we should host what numbers we can.

BUT, we have enough of a problem keeping track of the home grown terrorists we're discovering or developing in our midst every day.

So I would suggest that the United States volunteers to accept
150,000 Syrian/Iraqi/Afghan refugees

Provided they are:
·         True refugees, as much as that can be verified
·         Without medically transmissible diseases (this is just a part of our standard application  - will save all the other refugees and U.S. officials from getting sick in the extended process of getting them over here)
·         Either Yazidis (what's left of the 10,000 in Syria and 50,000 that sought refuge in the mountains of Iraq), Christians (there are/were 125,000 Iraqi Christians in imminent danger of losing their heads), Jews (always a popular target and not especially welcomed in Europe even before this crisis), or anyone that helped with U.S. military operations.
·         Hell, we should accept Jews from anywhere, even if some of them become lawyers
